About the projection tool
How the model works and how to use it well.
How does the 10 year financial projection work?
You enter last year's revenue, growth, gross margin, overheads and today's cash, loans and fixed assets. The tool builds a profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow for ten years that are linked and balance every year, then scores the result and writes commentary from the numbers.
Which assumptions does the model use?
Growth starts at your next year rate and moves in a straight line to your long term rate by year 10. Gross margin stays constant, overheads move from today's level to your year 10 level, and working capital follows the customer, supplier and stock days you set. Loans are repaid evenly, tax losses are carried forward and depreciation follows the asset life.
Is my data stored or shared?
No. Every calculation runs inside your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to accrualis or anyone else.
How is the business value calculated?
Free cash flow to the business is discounted at the rate you choose, with a terminal value after year 10 based on modest long term growth. It is an indicative figure for planning, not a formal valuation.
